October 30th

Writing: This week we learned about how to write a friendly letter complete with a date, greeting, body, closing, and a signature. We also practiced writing a 5 sentence descriptive paragraph to describe our pumpkins.

Reading: We reviewed strategies that good readers use to help build their reading comprehension. We also reviewed the importance of working to improve our independent reading stamina.

Math: During math, we reviewed skip counting (by 2, 5, and 10), number patterns, and problem solving involving repeated addition. Our next chapter will focus on place value.

Social Studies: This week we learned about the importance of rules, responsibilities of good citizens, and voting. Also, our class created voter identification cards and participated in Kids Voting.
