Science: Our class designed windbreaks, and then we tested them using a hair dryer. It was a lot of fun to see which structures worked the best to stop the erosion of sand! This was a cumulative activity to wrap up our learning about fast and slow land changes.
Writing: This week we continued our study of writing science notebooks. Our class redesigned our catapults, and then we compared our data to determine which catapult was the most successful. All of our findings were then recorded in our science notebooks using the format of: question, hypothesis, data, results and conclusion.
Math: We are approaching the end of chapter 4, and we are planning to take a test over two-digit subtraction with regrouping by the end of next week.
